DISTANCE LEARNING

Taloga Public Schools

Taloga, Oklahoma 73667

Dear Taloga Public School parents, staff, and community members:

As you are aware, our community has recently gone through a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases and quarantines.  Until now, Taloga Schools has been fortunate to operate uninterrupted.  The recent spike in COVID-19 combined with the normal seasonal ailments are making it difficult to operate effectively.

For this reason, Taloga Public Schools will be moving to distance learning from Monday November 16 through Friday November 20th.  Our goal is to add additional separation time with the Thanksgiving holiday break.  This will give students and staff 17 days of recovery time for regular seasonal issues and potential COVID exposure.

Some form of contact is required by the State Department of Education to count a student present for each day of instruction.  Teachers will be communicating assignments and taking attendance each day of distance learning.

There is nothing more important to Taloga Public Schools than the safety and health of our students, our staff, and their families. As more cases are being confirmed across the state, including in our community, please remain vigilant. Monitor yourself and your family for symptoms of COVID-19, which include fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

Taloga Public Schools will be providing meals during our week of distance learning to students.  If you have not been contacted by school staff and would like to receive meals, please contact the school office (580) 328-5586.  Thank you for your continued support and patience.  Please rest assured that our decisions are intended to do what is best for our students, families and community.

With Panther Pride,
Marsha Cusack
Superintendent
